KidsTown - FBC's Elementary School Age Ministry

Elementary children (K-5th grades) meet in the KidsTown building from 9:30-12 noon on Sunday mornings for unique and in-depth Bible instruction.    Our curriculum is designed monthly by a curriculum specialist to meet the children’s developmental levels offering separate lessons for the younger elementary and the older elementary.  Our monthly themes focus on a memory verse and a virtue.   Each Sunday of the month, this verse and virtue is examined through a different Bible story.

KidsTown Schedule

First Baptist Church partners with families to teach Bible stories and apply Biblical principles at home, at church and in the community to lead children to make wise choices concerning God, Jesus, others and self.

Sunday Mornings

Elementary Kids (K-5^th grades) meet in the KidsTown building both hours with unique but complimentary teaching during each hour. We have two theaters; KT Park for K-2^nd grades and Big City for 3^rd through 5^th grades.

At 9:30 AM the children will benefit from a Bible Presentation time that uses drama, video, games, and storytelling to introduce the small group lesson for the day in a theatre setting. At 9:45 AM the children move into their small group lesson time where they will dive deeper into the Bible lesson for the day, enjoy friendships with their classmates, and have a leader who will build a relationship with them as well.

At 11:00 AM Kids@Worship provides a kid friendly, meaningful worship experience using worship music, video, games, skits and storytelling that reinforces the lesson taught during the small group hour.

The K-2^nd children are dismissed from their small group classrooms at 12:00 noon under the supervision of a parent or sibling only. They are engaged in a closing activity to work on until they are picked up. The 3^rd though 5^th grade children are dismissed from the Big City theatre at 12:00 noon under the supervision of a parent or sibling only.

Wednesdays Nights

On Wednesday nights from 6:15 PM to 7:40 PM we have our Awana program. The children take part in an opening flag time, handbook time, game time, and a concluding council time. The goal of Awana is to partner with parents by giving them an opportunity to work with their child through their Awana books learning God’s Word. They then have the chance to come back on Wednesday and recite the Scriptures to their leaders while working towards a quarterly reward. The dismissal for Wednesday night Awana matches that of Sunday mornings.

Events

The KidsTown ministry for K-5^th grades offers additional events for children and parents that give opportunities to learn and grow outside of Sundays and Wednesdays. Some of these are New Christian Luncheon, Father/Daughter Banquet, Mother/Son Outing, Vacation Bible School, Centrikid Camp (3^rd-5^th grades), Fall Festival, KidsTown Bash, Children’s Christmas Musical, Winter Retreat, and more!
